Como ya es habitual cada año, la industria de los videojuegos se reúne en un solo lugar para reconocer a los mejores títulos del año. Esta vez, no obstante, los Game Awards 2023 lo tenían más difícil que nunca. ¿Por qué? Ya hace tiempo que no teníamos la oportunidad de disfrutar tantos juegos tan increíbles en un año. Por lo tanto, elegir a los mejores, incluso para la audiencia, no ha sido sencillo.
De hecho, cuando Geoff Keighley y sus dirigidos revelaron la lista de nominados, inmediatamente surgió polémica. Es evidente que nunca se podrá contestar a todos los jugadores, pues cada uno tiene sus gustos y preferencias. Debido a la notable cantidad de juegos sobresalientes que vieron la luz este año, por desgracia algunos de ellos no destacaron en las nominaciones.
Nuevamente, el galardón que atrae todos los reflectores es el Juego del Año (GOTY). En los Game Awards 2023, estos son los juegos que se disputaban el premio máximo: Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder y The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Algunos espectadores consideran el GOTY como un premio que mide, desde la lista de nominados, el éxito o fracaso de las compañías más importantes del sector. Lo anterior da origen a una ola de toxicidad que, tristemente, crece año tras año.
Lo cierto es que la mejor opinión sobre los mejores juegos del año no lo tienen los Game Awards 2023, sino nuestro propio criterio con base en los títulos que hemos podido disfrutar durante los últimos 12 meses. Esta lista personal, evidentemente, podrá o no coincidir con la de otros jugadores. Se trata de compartir puntos de vista, no de intentar imponerlos, algo que muchos han perdido de vista la gala.
A pesar de lo anterior, no deja de ser interesante conocer el criterio de la prensa con relación a los mejores juegos del año.
