Un año más, la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood (HFPA, por sus siglas en inglés) ha premiado a las mejores producciones de cine y televisión. En su 75ª edición, Seth Meyers ha sido el encargado de presentar la gala celebrada en Los Ángeles, California, considerada como la antesala de los premios Oscar.
El evento de este año ha estado marcado por los escándalos de acoso sexual en Hollywood, los cuales se iniciaron tras las acusaciones al productor Harvey Weinstein. El movimiento #MeToo salpicó a otros actores como Kevin Spacey y Dustin Hoffman, además de productores como Brett Ratner. En señal de protesta por los comportamientos sexuales inapropiados de algunos miembros de la industria cinematográfica, varios actores se han vestido de negro. Entre los actores que se han vestido de luto se encuentra Meryl Streep, Jessica Biel, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Dakota Johnson, Emma Watson, Hugh Jackman y Chris Hemsworth, además de los actores de la serie de Netflix Stranger Things.
A pesar de los escándalos, la HFPA ha nombrado, una vez más, a las series y películas que han considerado las mejores. Estos son los ganadores de la 75ª edición de los Globos de Oro.
